Evaluating
Ministry
I
have been taking a season to look at where I’m heading in life. The
face of our family is changing as we now have a teenage driver and
both kids are involved with sports and school and youth group
activities. My energy levels are changing as I’m working to drop
some extra pounds and I know I have to focus those new energies in
purposeful ways.
Have you ever come to a point where you
realized you just can’t do it all? The Ezine Queen, Ali Brown says,
“You cannot grow without letting some things go!”
As I
reevaluate what I’m doing, I realize that there are others who are
doing a fine job of helping writers and speakers. I don’t need to
duplicate their efforts, so I want to pass the baton off to them.
They are running their race with excellence.

Where
Am I Headed?
If
you were to ask me about women’s retreats, I could talk your leg
off! I love taking women on outings, as something magical happens in
the process. Lives are impacted when people are removed from their
everyday lives and placed in a different environment for a few hours
or a few nights. I have been on all kinds of retreats...Women’s
Getaways, Youth Camps, Mission Trips, Speakers’ Seminars, Women of
Faith Conferences, Writers’ Workshops and Church Conventions. Each
time I’ve come home with a renewed sense of purpose and calling. I
want to share some of the things I’ve learned along the way in my
new Ezine, beginning next week. Would you like to stay on board?
Then do nothing, and “The Oasis” will come to your mailbox a week
from today. I know you signed on for tools for writers and speakers,
so there will be no hard feelings if you choose to unsubscribe in
the area provided below.
But, before you go, I want to offer
a special to all of my loyal readers. You have continued to motivate
and encourage me, and I want to do something for you. I am offering
a 50 % discount on one of my favorite authors. For one week only,
you can get Carol Kent’s Speak Up With Confidence or Becoming a
Woman of Influence for $6.00 plus Shipping and Handling. Speak Up
With Confidence is an excellent handbook for all leaders. She takes
you through the process of using stories to build your talk.
Becoming a Woman of Influence has great tools for understanding how
to make an impact on another’s life through a mentoring
relationship.

May 2!
Also, I am hosting a drawing. For every name that
signs up for my new Ezine from your recommendation, your name will
be put into a hat. I am giving away a copy of Marybeth Whalen’s For
the Write Reason! Marybeth’s book has been instrumental in helping
me to find the courage to tackle different aspects of writing, and
in validating that calling upon my life. It has daily devotions that
accompany the input of writers and speakers from all walks of life.
I know it will bless you too! The people you refer will also be put
into the drawing. If one of their names is drawn, as they may not be
interested in writing or speaking, I will give them a copy of Hats
Off to You! This offer is good for my blog readers as well. Hats Off
to You, compiled by Pam Farrel, is a charming celebration of women
with whimsical artwork by Sandy Lynam Clough. A value of $7.99.
Either of these gifts is free, if you help me reach a new audience
through my Ezine! The drawing will be held on Friday May 16,
2008.
What’s
in the New Ezine?
The
weekly Ezines will come with tips for personal refreshment as well
as ideas for drawing others into a time of renewal. We’ll look at
ways that Jesus sought getaways from daily life, and talk about
letting go of the tyranny of the urgent in order to seek the Most
Important.
I’m looking forward to this new adventure and I
hope you will join me as we seek Oasis from the daily
grind!
Blessings to you, Sally
P.S. One such
retreat is being offered tomorrow at the Chautauqua Suites in
Mayville, NY! http://www.lilyretreat.com/ |
